There are many vendors of the spices, yet you should know about them a little bit more. Some of them sell their spices in small quantities and for the high price. It is possible to buy from that vendors if you are going to buy just only a small amout of spices.
If you want to buy half a kg of spices or even more, for example one kilogram of star anise and one kilogram of cinnamon in sticks, you'd better buy it from wholesale vendors. They will suggest you a big quantities of different spices by a cheap price.
You can see a cardboard box with a several kg of star anise on the photograph below. The female vendor from Lomé Grand Market had brought it to me. I bought 1 kg of star anise right from this box.
You may buy the other spices like cinnamon sticks and cloves just the same way. It will be much cheaper.
