Agave victoriae-reginae is in bloom

Family-friendly: true
Each Queen Victoria agave blooms only once for 2-4 weeks during its lifespan. The plant will start to die after the four- to six-week long bloom. After that, “pups” or genetic replicas of the original agave, will begin to shoot up from the dead plant. The agave's bloom stalk towers 15 feet above surrounding plants and is covered from top to bottom with buds.
