In Piazza Rinascimento, directly in front of the elegant french windows of the Ducal Palace, we find the Church of San Domenico, built in 1365 in gothic style.
The magnificent front door in travertine is the work of Tommaso di Bartolomeo, known as Masaccio in around 1450. It has a relatively shallow entrance with two lateral columns capped in Corinthian style; in the alcove above there is a copy Luca della Robbia's sculpture in terracotta, Madonna with Baby and Saints. The original is found in the National Gallery of the Marche.
