Lives in northern, central and north-eastern India, Bangladesh. Pakistan and Myanmar. Dweller of open, well-watered plains; usually lives in pair. Feeds on grains, shoots and other vegetable matters, insects, reptiles etc. Lays 2 eggs; Incubation - 28 days.
